The effectiveness of comic books (HQs) in Physics education is investigated by the article "Comic Books as a Support in Physics Education: Promoting the Learning of Astronomy and Electromagnetism Concepts" in which Astronomy concepts are used for the promotion of meaningful learning of Electromagnetic Waves in High School. Student demotivation and the optimization of comprehension were the research objectives, which was grounded in Ausubel's Theory of Meaningful Learning and aligned with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Through a quantitative methodology, 40 students from a school in Minas Gerais were involved, being subjected to pre-tests and post-tests, with a four-month pedagogical intervention during which HQs developed by researchers, based on NASA sources, were employed. A statistically significant improvement in student performance was demonstrated by the statistical analysis, carried out using the paired Student's t-test, with an increase in the number of correct answers being observed in 67.5% of the participants. From the conclusions, HQs are indicated as a motivating instrument and an effective support for potentially meaningful learning in Physics, being differentiated from traditional approaches, and the interaction between prior knowledge and new information being facilitated.
